In the first half of 2024, the number of information security events related to automated scanner activity increased 2.2 times compared to the last half of 2023, the report notes.
Attackers actively look for vulnerabilities in web applications that can be used for attacks such as SQL injection (allowing interference with database queries), XSS (injecting JavaScript code into web pages), and path traversal (gaining access to private files on the server). . ).
Alexey Pashkov, head of WAF and Anti-DDoS at the Solar group of companies, noted that up to 97% of Internet sites are subject to automated scans by hackers, making even the most inconspicuous resources vulnerable. Attackers often use them to train before attacks on larger, well-known web portals.
Mainsgroup predicted that the cyber insurance market in Russia could more than double and exceed 3 billion rubles by the end of 2024. Ilya Shalenkov, director of cybersecurity group Kept, highlighted that the increasing number of cyber attacks forces companies to look for ways to minimize risks. In 2024, the number of DDoS attacks has already exceeded 355,000, 16% more than all of last year.
