Apple installed 12 GB of RAM and an A20 chip made using a 2 nm process technology in the iPhone 18, user Phone Chip Expert reported on Weibo.
All iPhone 16 models come with 8GB of RAM, which is considered an additional requirement for Apple Intelligence. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 17 Pro will receive 12 GB of RAM. It is quite possible that by the time the iPhone 18 is released, this will be the standard amount of RAM for all models.
Apple is expected to be the first company to release a 2nm chip. TSMC plans to launch its production at the end of 2024.
Reducing the process technology will allow Apple to install more transistors, and therefore increase power, without affecting power consumption.
