YouTube has a new “Caught on Camera” label that appears under some videos.
It appears under videos that were shot on camera and were not used in image editing, sound editing, or processing II.
Video verification is carried out according to the C2PA standard thanks to the Trupic service. For this, Trupic has recently metadata of uploaded videos. But the check only works with devices that can record this metadata, and there are not many of them yet.
The C2PA standard was created in the 2021 building by Microsoft and Adobe. Arm, BBC, Intel, Google, Sony, OpenAI also joined its support. Apple and other smartphone and camera manufacturers are not on the list of partners. [The Verge]
