Musk was initially interested in the invitation, but then announced that he would not be able to attend the dinner. “He said it would be difficult and expensive for him,” said Martha Skaar, communications director for the Norwegian company.

According to E24, Musk’s relationship with Tangen deteriorated in the summer of 2024. Then, the Norwegian fund, one of Tesla’s largest shareholders, announced that it would vote against approving the compensation payment to Musk worth 56 thousand million dollars. The billionaire did not like this approach.

The founder of SpaceX and Tesla has an estimated net worth of $247.5 billion and is the richest person in the world according to Forbes.

Musk continues to invest in Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. In July-September, it made seven contributions totaling nearly $75 million.
