Nick Fox, one of the company’s key leaders, was appointed to replace Raghavan. He will now head the search, advertising, geographic and business services divisions. Fox was instrumental in launching products such as Google Fi and RCS.

According to what is written in the media, these changes occur against the background of the active development of artificial intelligence at Google and possible regulatory challenges from the US government regarding its monopoly in the search business.

Other teams are also being reorganized: the Gemini AI team will join Google DeepMind, and the Google Assistant team will become part of the platforms and devices division.
