This is the first product of its kind in the industry that can increase cell density by 50% while maintaining the same packet size as GDDR6.
GDDR7 memory is equipped with a clock management system and a new dual VDD design that increases energy efficiency by 30%. Bandwidth is 40 Gbit/s and can be overclocked up to 42.5 Gbit/s.
By comparison, today’s highest-performance RTX 40XX graphics cards use 22.4 Gbps of memory.
The new modules will allow next-generation GPUs to support up to 48 GB of video memory with up to 2560 GB/s bandwidth on a 512-bit bus. The memory is currently being tested by leading GPU manufacturers, but their names have not been announced yet.
Although it is not difficult to clearly guess that at least NVIDIA is among them.
