MTS announced the launch of the “Safe Call” function in the “Defender” service. With its help, MTS subscribers can receive a voice warning from AI about possible fraud during a conversation.

Voice signal is heard just received a call.

Artificial intelligence based on MTS big data analyzes the conversation, identifying signs of fraud. If he notices suspicious activity, he warns about the appearance of a call. Next, the subscriber will independently decide to continue the conversation.

The company says that the AI has learned to identify a fraudster in the first minute of communication.

We are constantly introducing new tools to protect against spam and fraud. Today, when the number of fraudulent calls is growing rapidly, our main task is to strengthen user security. We found that the highest phone call activity from intruders occurs on pleasant days between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. These calls are least likely to come on weekends in the evening.

The “Safe Call” function will allow us to stop new schemes of attackers and secure telephone conversations of our subscribers.

— Director of the “Defender” product Andrey Biychuk

A pilot project for the new feature was launched in Moscow in May 2024. The most common phone scams are:

► employees of mobile operators: 78%
► employees of social, pension and tax services: 9%
► employees of banks and other departments: 5%
► employees of other departments

“Safe Call” is available in all regions of MTS presence. When you connect, they give you a free 7-day period. Then the cost will be 199 rubles per month.
