Tinkoff will provide services for the transfer of ruble transactions to neighboring countries. The bank will assume the payment connection and transfer functions, using the SBP’s identifiers and infrastructure.
Tinkoff and the Bank of Russia did not disclose the size of the commission, the timing of the full launch of the service, and the list of banks. At the testing stage, Tinkoff made a payment of 1,000 rubles, from a Hayes Bank client to the Kyrgyz MBANK, RBC reported.
Transfers will be made in rubles and converted to local currency at the receiving bank. The operations are carried out within the SBP. SWIFT and the Financial Messaging System do not participate in them.
In the future, the bank plans to launch transfers through the SBP to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries. Transfers from foreign banks to Russia will be launched at the end of 2022.
