It was October 25, 2021, exactly 23 years ago, when Microsoft released its new operating system: Windows XP. And generation Z It was just in its infancy, so for them it was completely unknown software.

For this reason, and also to find out what the reaction of today’s young people would be to a system that was clearly prehistoric to their vision, the YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips offered them a computer with this OS.

Linus put them through several tests:

  • The first test they ran on Linus’ video was setting up classic screensavers. Remember the classic about pipes?
  • Second test: try placing a CD room in your computer. A real problem for Gen Z, who didn’t know you had to press a button manually to open the tray.
  • Install the software on your PC. Of course, now everything is downloaded online and that’s it, but they didn’t plan to place a lot of disks for completing the mission.
  • Connect to the Internet and wait for the website to load. In urgent times, it really killed Gen Z.
  • The newest: contrast them with computer games from 23 years ago, very far from the hyperreality and speed of today.
