Tesla’s third quarter report indicated that the company plans to develop an affordable electric vehicle model. The start of production is planned for the first half of 2025.
Inexpensive electric cars will be assembled on a new platform, but to save money they will be produced on the same assembly lines as current models.
Engadget notes that the cheapest Tesla electric car in the US, excluding subsidies, costs $42,490 (a little more than 4.1 million rubles at the exchange rate on October 24).
In early October, the cheapest Tesla electric car was withdrawn from sales. The Model 3 Standard Range, which cost around $39,000 (3.77 million rubles), disappeared from the company’s website. It was replaced by the long-range rear-drive Model 3.
