Design

It’s the new iPad mini’s big innovation that finally surpasses the design of the Intel-powered Mac mini. Apple significantly reduces the size of Mac mini (M4)now smaller but taller. Aluminum continues to be used as the main material in the design and there is an apple on the top. Its weight has been reduced by almost half, making it a very portable device:

Processor and RAM memory

As for the price, that’s not good news. The base model with an M4 chip starts at 719 euros, the same as the model with an M2 chip, although it has twice the amount of RAM. Models with M4 Pro chips are slightly more expensive than models using M2 Pro chips.

The cost of memory or internal storage upgrades remains the same, 230 Euros for each section. Just like having a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port for 115 Euros.

Is it worth swapping Mac mini M2 for Mac mini M4?

Of course, it is not easy to answer this. The Mac mini with the M2 chip is a great device that still supports the latest features like Apple Intelligence. Then, I wouldn’t recommend the swap unless you need more power.. The M4 and M4 Pro chips are vastly superior to the M2 and M2 Pro, two years later and it shows. But despite the beautiful design, I think this is the only argument for an upgrade.

I actually think this Mac mini is aimed at users who still have a Mac with an Intel chip and want to replace their Windows PC for a desktop Mac.
