The new Intel 285K performed well in working programs. For example, in Cinebench 2023, we managed to achieve a 10.7% better result with a single 5 GHz core compared to 13,900K. In Cinebench 2024 (single 5 GHz core) the difference between them was already 13.6%, and between 285K and 9950X it was 9.9%.

Moreover, if you do not install Windows from scratch after installing a 285K processor, overall performance may decrease by approximately 12%.

Below are the Core Ultra 285K’s measurements in all other work applications.

When it comes to games, in most of them the 285K processor could not reach 13,900K and 9950X. Although, for example, in “A Plague Tale: Requiem” the average frame rate of the new product was 181 fps, just like the 9950X, and with 13,900K the average FPS was 180 fps. You can see all the test results (with RTX 4090 chips) above.

Windows 10 still runs faster with any processor. There are certain modes where the Intel 285K performs best, but the expert expected more from this processor. Therefore, it is definitely not worth replacing 13,900 with a new one.
