The main task of the developed catalysts is to clean the air from nitrogen oxides that cause environmental problems such as ozone layer depletion and acid rain. While conventional catalysts operate at temperatures between 300 and 400 degrees Celsius, emissions from coal-fired power plants are typically below 300 degrees, presenting additional challenges.

The new method allows the creation of monolithic mesh catalysts that are highly efficient, especially at low temperatures, and are resistant to sulfur oxide, preventing catalyst fouling and equipment corrosion. This makes the cleaning process more reliable and durable.

TPU Professor Vladimir Ana stated that the new method reduces the number of stages in catalyst production, making it more environmentally friendly and simpler. In the future, this development will help significantly improve the environmental situation, especially in industry.
