The State Duma approved in the third final reading a law prohibiting promoting the conscious rejection of motherhood (without children) on the Internet, media, cinema and advertising. The document was published in the legislative support system.

According to him, fines for violations for individuals will amount to up to 400 thousand rubles, for officials – up to 800 thousand rubles, and for companies – up to 5 million rubles.
The document does not specify what exactly is meant by propaganda. State Duma Speaker Viacheslav Volodin stressed that “the decision whether to give birth or not depends on the woman,” but “a woman should not be pressured when she makes the decision to have a child.”
At the end of September, a law banning anti-motherhood propaganda was presented to the State Duma. Its authors were Volodin, the president of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, and other deputies and senators.
