The number of lawsuits against an electronics store to fulfill obligations under a contract has almost doubled in 2022, Kommersant reports.

Shops are being sued by both individuals and legal entities. According to the SPARK-Interfax database, most of the claims against electronics stores by businesses and employed entrepreneurs are against M.Video-Eldorado: 147 and 250 million rubles. In 2021, there were 75.

In 2022, 60 lawsuits for 20 million rubles were filed against Citylink, 28 lawsuits for 10 million rubles were filed against MegaFon, and 15 lawsuits for 27 million rubles were filed against re:Store.

M.Video-Eldorado said the high requirements are “not business sensitive” and are not responsible for looking after brands or supplies.
