Apple announced the release of Final Cut Pro 11 13 years after the release of Final Cut Pro 10.

This is a major update to the app with a lot of changes added. For example, there’s Magnetic Mask, a new AI-powered tool that allows video editors to simulate people and objects in a video clip without using chroma key or having to manually edit the frame.

There is now a function for creating subtitles from transcribed text. It allows you to analyze speech in audio recordings along a timeline using a powerful AI language model (works on Mac with M chips, works on macOS Sequoia).

In addition, the video editor now allows you to work with spatial videos shot with Vision Pro, iPhone 15 Pro and above, as well as a Canon R7 camera with an RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL LENS lens. You can add titles, apply color correction and effects, and then send the resulting clips to Vision Pro (also requires a Mac with an M chip).

Other changes:

• when creating multi-camera clips, you can automatically close the original clips from the browser
• New feature “Change Vertical Scale Under” scales clips in height so they fit on the timeline.
• there are new “Picture in Picture” and “Callout” effects that help you realize your creative ideas faster.
• new modular transitions have appeared for spectacular scene changes
• New shortcuts help you perform common tasks faster in the browser and on the Timeline.
• Added support for a media extension component for outputting and editing more video formats.

In addition, Final Cut Pro 2.1 for iPad has been released. It features Live Drawing, lighting and scene enhancement effects, new cropping effects, and temporary 90, 100, and 120 fps options for smoother images.
