Microsoft introduced the Windows 365 Link mini PC. Its main feature is that it can only run the cloud version of Windows 11.
Windows 365 Link comes in a compact design with USB-A 3.2 ports, including USB-C 3.2, DisplayPort, HDMI, and Ethernet. There is a power button on the front panel.
The company does not disclose the technical characteristics of the processor, the amount of RAM and storage. However, this does not matter since the device is designed exclusively to work with the cloud system. It comes pre-installed with a simplified OS, the main purpose of which is to connect to Windows 365 and stream the cloud version of Windows 11. Local file storage does not provide increased security.
Windows 365 Link is designed for companies that want to move their employees to virtual machines. It supports dual monitors and peripherals.
Companies can independently configure the characteristics of cloud PCs running Windows 11. All management is carried out through the Windows 365 service.
A link to Windows 365 will cost $365 (~36.7 thousand rubles). It will be available in the US in 2025, followed by the UK, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. [The Verge]
