Ollolai has a population of only 1,200 people and the town is looking for ways to increase it. According to Mayor Francesco Columbu, the website liveinollolai.com was created specifically to “meet the need of Americans to move.”

According to information on the website, the village welcomes all those who are tired of world politics and are looking for a “more balanced lifestyle” and new opportunities.

The mayor explained that the proposal is aimed mainly at Americans and for them the process will be expedited.

There are currently around 100 affordable homes available in the village. The cost varies from €1 (the home requires renovation) to €100,000 or more (completely ready to move into).

Last August, Ollolai launched an initiative to attract digital nomads. During the twelfth month, more than 18 thousand people submitted applications.
