“December 28 is not a reduced working day, since on this day we work on Monday, December 30, in accordance with the transfer of days off in 2024,” explained the parliamentarian.
At the same time, he asked employers to treat the postponement with understanding and give employees the opportunity to rest more. Nilov also recalled the LDPR bill, which proposes making December 31 a day off. If the document were approved, December 28 would still be a day off, the deputy said.
LDPR deputies submitted this bill to the State Duma in 2020. The parliamentarians proposed moving the day off from January 8 to December 31. In 2023, the government did not support the initiative because it was considered “excessive.”
In November 2024, LDPR Deputy Chairman in the State Duma Stanislav Naumov sent a proposal to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko to replace the six-day working week before the New Year with a five-day one, so that “the week last time it would not be overloaded.”
According to the production calendar for 2024, in the last week of December the Russians will work from the 23rd to the 28th inclusive, that is, six days. They will rest from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025.
