Additionally, Xi said China supports developing countries and promised to “increase aid initiatives” in the technology sector.

During the meeting, Xi also noted the importance of “managing global trade” to build a world economy “characterized by openness.” This was his response to presidents of other G20 countries who were concerned that a green transition to electric vehicles and biodiesel could make them dependent on China. In this context, Xi “warned other members against protectionism in the name of green and low-carbon development.”
