According to Insider Gaming, the embargo on publishing reviews will end on November 20 at 17:00 Moscow time. A few hours from now, the game will be available on PC, Xbox Series and Game Pass.

This approach by developers seems unusual in the gaming industry, where reviews are often published several days before release. This allows the viewer to get to know the critics’ opinions in advance and make a purchasing decision.

What made GSC Game World choose such a compressed schedule remains a mystery. Perhaps the developers are afraid of a negative reaction or want to keep the curiosity going until the last moment.

Interestingly, the senior editor of Insider Gaming, who managed to get used to the game, considers it a potential hit: “If STALKER 2 had been released earlier, it could have competed for the title of game of the year at The Game Awards. ”

Meanwhile, the game has already seen success with pre-orders; It ranked second behind Counter-Strike 2 in terms of revenue on Steam.
