The iPhone 17 and the new 17 Air model will not have a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, according to Korean website The Elec. This camera will still only be available in Pro versions.
Apple probably won’t attach an optical sensor to the iPhone 17 Air because it would be very protective of the smartphone and physically wouldn’t be able to fit a large lens. It will only have one 48MP camera, like the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.
