According to Reuters, a letter sent to the US Chamber of Commerce says the presidential administration plans to announce the new sanctions list “before Thanksgiving,” which will take place on November 28.
Additionally, according to the agency, another set of rules will be published next month to limit the supply of high-tech chips to China as part of an expanded package of sanctions against China’s AI sector.
In September this year, the US Department of Commerce banned the use of Chinese and Russian software for Internet-connected cars. US authorities explained the decision by saying that devices that connect cars to the Internet make them potential targets for hacking.
