According to Positive Technologies, the number of successful cyber attacks against Russian organizations in 2022 was 220. In 2023, their number dropped to 167, but increased again in 2024: 217 attacks have been recorded so far. The focus of these attacks has also changed. Initially, the aim of the attacks was to steal data, but now the attackers’ priority is to disrupt the functioning of the infrastructure.
Experts emphasize the importance of advanced cybersecurity measures, including EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) alongside traditional tools for monitoring and mitigating threats. Immediate response to suspected breaches, regular software updates, and increased employee cybersecurity awareness are critical in the fight against these threats.
