The Perseid meteor shower will peak between August 11-12. Tonight, the Moon will not interfere with the observations of falling stars as it is close to the new moon. Up to 100 meteors are predicted per hour and can be seen in good weather and without urban light pollution.
The name of the stream is associated with the constellation Perseus, from which meteorites seem to come. In Russia it will be best seen on the border of the constellations Perseus, Giraffe and Cassiopeia. From evening to dawn it will be possible to observe the star fall, and the peak of observation will be at night.
Meteors, Perseids, are bright white flashes that instantly light up the sky. Some shine particularly brightly and leave impressive marks. The best places for observation are about 30 km from residential areas, away from city lights. You don’t need any special equipment to observe the meteor shower.
