The issue is related to the eSCL protocol used for wireless and USB scanner drivers. The company confirmed that devices do not switch from eSCL to USB mode, which prevents drivers from working properly and detecting connected devices.

The bug affects multifunction devices and scanners that support the eSCL protocol.

To avoid degrading the user experience, Microsoft has temporarily blocked the update for computers to which such devices are connected. A similar ban previously affected computers running some Ubisoft games.

No fixes have been announced at this time, and Microsoft advises IT administrators to track the issue via Windows Update ID 54762729.
