Huawei has announced a new line of Mate 70 smartphones. This is the first device that will independently run on the HarmonyOS Next wireless system in China.
This OS does not include Google components or services. And Android applications on it will not keep you waiting. The company expects to be able to compete with Android and iOS. The Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro Plus and Mate 70 RS will also be offered with HarmonyOS 4.3 with support for Android apps.
There is also not a single American component in the gadgets.
The company says HarmonyOS Next currently supports 15,000 apps. And in the coming months there will be about 100 thousand of them. From 2025, all gadgets will be produced on this OS.
The base Huawei Mate 70 features a 6.7-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,300mAh battery, 66W fast charging via USB-C cable, and up to 50W wireless charging. It has a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle selfie camera.
Costs from $760 (this is the version with 12/256 GB of memory).
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro features Wi-Fi 7, satellite connectivity, longer charging times, a larger screen, 48MP telephoto, and AI-powered photography. Costs from $900.
Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus has improved camera sensors. This model comes with 16GB/1TB storage. Costs $1175.
Finally, the Huawei Mate70 RS offers all the features of the Mate 70 Pro Plus, but its body is made of titanium. Costs $1657.
All new products are already available for purchase in China. [The Verge]
