At the CYBERWARCON conference, Microsoft detailed how these “middlemen” steal personal data, fabricate resumes, and use AI tools to manipulate documents and photos during job applications. They may also try voice-altering technologies to avoid interview screening.

Thousands of such agents have infiltrated the global labor market with the help of fake bank accounts, mobile services and third parties providing access to job markets.

Microsoft warns that North Korea’s operations are evolving and future campaigns will likely use more advanced AI tools.
