The video creation platform using artificial intelligence Sora, which is not yet available for public use, has been leaked to the internet. The leak may have been caused by OpenAI’s own employees who were close to testing the service and said they were not well paid for their work.

All materials were published on the Hugging Face platform, allowing Sora to test the service for free. The leak allowed several people to use text commands to use the resource to create short videos of up to 10 seconds and at 1080p resolution.

Shortly after, both OpenAI and Hugging Face revoked access to the resource. In fact, OpenAI itself temporarily removed access from other testers. On the social network X (formerly Twitter), many users posted their creations via Sora and were impressed with the results.

Leak in the form of protest

Unlike many leaks, which are usually carried out by hackers, Sora’s appearance on the Internet was a kind of rebellion of the testers responsible for working on artificial intelligence. The group, which calls itself “Sora PR Members,” reveals that hundreds of artists are not being paid well for their work, feedback and experimentation on the platform.

“We are not against using AI as a tool for art (if we were, we probably wouldn’t be invited to this program). What we disagree on is the way this program for artists is being implemented and how the tool will take shape before a possible public launch,” the group explains in a note.

In response to website TechCrunchSora representatives note that the program remains in the research phase and note that OpenAI is working to “balance creativity with robust security measures for broader use.”

In March, company executives stated that Sora would be introduced to the public by the end of this year, but this reality seems distant. Currently, the company’s AI video platform is in the testing phase and is available to a few organizations.
