The decision allows the continuation of the trial in the case that started in 2021. In August this year, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) requested withdrawal of previously submitted investigative materials after Apple accused the regulator of disclosing trade secrets to its rivals.
The company said disclosing the data could harm its market position. However, the Indian regulator decided that Apple’s arguments were not enough to suspend the process.
The lawsuit against Apple concerns alleged violations of antitrust laws in the workplace of the App Store. Similar investigations against the company had previously been conducted in other countries, where Apple faced accusations of abuse of dominant position.
