The fund focuses on supporting startups created by graduates of Sirius programs and is designed to engage talented young scientists in innovative projects. Dmitriev stressed that the key task of the fund is the development of new companies that can compete globally.
The capital of the fund is formed in equal parts: Sirius and the Russian Venture Company (RVC), managed by RDIF, invested 500 million rubles each. Now Sirius’ board of directors is discussing the fund’s strategy for the next 10 years.
In April, RDIF and the National Media Group holding company decided to invest in the creation of a joint commercial fund for the development of film and animation. The size of the fund will be 8 billion rubles.
In September, RDIF, together with Russian oil and gas companies, plan to create an industrial investment fund “Technologies for the oil and gas industry.” It should help companies that are developing critical technologies for this industry.
