Yandex.Taxi will defend its interests in the country, as an interlocutor of the company said in a comment to RBC. In the meantime, the company is “routinely engaging with the regulator.”
“No antitrust measures were applied to the company,” RBC quotes the response of a representative of the company to a question about the measures applied by the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.
Previously, the offices of Yandex.Taxi.Corp LLC and its partners were searched as part of a large-scale tax evasion case. The corporation itself claims that its “daughter” in Kyrgyzstan operates in accordance with the law and pays taxes in good faith.
The press service of the State Committee for National Security, cited by Interfax, explained to the media that the aggregator is accused of unjustifiably inflating interest rates for drivers, which resulted in an artificial increase in taxi prices.
According to Yandex.Taxi.Corp, in 2023 the company paid more than 328 million soms in taxes to the budget of Kyrgyzstan, and in the first half of 2024 – more than 222 million soms. According to the Tazabek portal, the company is ranked 63rd among the top 500 taxpayers in Kyrgyzstan.
The company was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan in March 2022, its director is Sulaimanov Tilek Kanybekovich, the founders are the company “Ya.E. Holding Limited and the company Ride Technology Global FZ-LLC.
