The pipeline will be officially closed on December 2, 2024, and production will restart on January 5, 2025. The automaker cited low sales of the specified model as the reason for suspending production.

At the same time, Stellantis announced that it would close its Vauxhall van factory in the UK. As the source noted, the closure of the plant in Britain would jeopardize more than 1,000 jobs.

“This is due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the sales of electric vehicles in various European markets, which account for 97% of Mirafoiori production, as well as luxury vehicles in some non-European countries such as China and the USA,” Stellantis said.
