The developers describe the world of the game as follows: “This is Russia at the end of the 19th century, but in an alternate universe. In it, in the summer of 1896, London was raided by Martian invaders, European capitals fell one after another in a desperate struggle with alien machines. In early autumn, rain from cosmic fireballs rained down on Petrograd, and then predatory tripods rose over the capital’s skyline. It seems that there is hope for salvation only in Siberia, far beyond the Urals, here, far from the centers of technology and culture, at the last stations of the railway … “
The game combines third-person action, stealth and puzzle solving. Players will encounter a unique setting that offers a mix of historical and sci-fi elements, roughly described as “Russia under alien rule.”
