Developers of the popular WinRAR archiver report that they sell approximately 10 thousand licenses for their program every month. The company’s SMM manager announced this on social networks and thanked users for their support and license purchases. These sales volumes indicate high interest in the product, which continues to be in demand in the market.
Interestingly, the free version of WinRAR has the same functions as the paid version. Despite this, many users prefer to purchase the program, especially considering that the permanent license costs only $ 26 (about 2.8 thousand rubles). This brings RARLab about 28 million rubles a month from license sales.
WinRAR has been around since 1993 and was created by Chelyabinsk programmer Evgeny Roshal. The program continues to evolve, and in January 2022, the developers discontinued support for Windows XP, leaving compatibility with newer versions of Windows. Currently, the current version of the program, WinRAR 7, is available for free, with a trial period warning, but without the need for license activation.
