The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced more than a dozen tenders for the development and production of important materials for electronics. 4.8 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes, and the work is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. Tender documents state that such steps are related to sanctions restrictions that have led to the suspension of the supply of a number of materials to Russia. Orders include the production of fluoromethane and high-purity silicone, as well as special adhesives and polishing materials.
One of the tasks was the development of the production of trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, which is actively used in the microelectronics industry for the oxidation of silicon. It must have a purity of at least 8N according to technical specifications and meet stringent requirements for use in the production of electronic components. Also on the list is the development of a polishing material to replace the American Dow pads previously used in the production of chips for semiconductors.
Tenders are held within the framework of the programs “Scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation” and “Development of electronic engineering until 2030”. In the process of conducting the study, enterprises will need to present prototypes of the developed materials to consumers to verify their parameters. The Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasizes that these projects are important in ensuring the independence of the domestic radio-electronics sector.
