In the spring, the National Payment Card System (NSCP) will send an invitation to banks to take part in testing the new Volna solution, an analogue of Apple Pay and Google Play.
The new system will allow iOS and Android users to make contactless payments for purchases. Pilot launch in the second quarter of 2025.
You can already apply to participate in the pilot. And starting from the second quarter of 2025, launch a wave of first piloting of technologies together with participating banks.

Banks will be able to integrate Volna into their mobile applications. For this user, you will need to select “Wave” as the main payment method in the system.
When making a payment, the client needs to open the application, bring the phone to the terminal at a distance of 15-20 cm and perform the operation using Face ID, Touch ID or password. NS PC is also working to stop using Volna for offline payments.
“Volna” uses Bluetooth technology (BLE). BLE and NFC operate independently, which means that if Volna is selected as the main payment method, the payment will be made using this method, and not through NFC, the ability to check double debits.
Unlike NFC, with the help of “Wave” you can observe at a greater distance from the terminal, without worrying about the exact position of the smartphone, NSPK explains. [Интерфакс]
