In 2023, Ozon and Wildberries entered the top 10 of the world’s largest active session platforms for the first time. Users mostly visited Amazon, but Wildberries and Ozon also made the list, with more than 659 million visits combined. In the context of the Russian e-commerce market, Ozon and Wildberries accounted for 78% of orders in the second half of 2023.
The Data Insight study took into account the performance of Russian marketplaces with annual turnover of more than 100 billion rubles. As of December 2023, there were four major platforms in Russia: Ozon, Wildberries, Yandex Market and Megamarket. These sites process 92% of orders in Russia, the total turnover reached 4.4 trillion rubles.
The online trading market in Russia will grow by 36% in 2023, exceeding the growth rate in other countries. The number of orders in Russian marketplaces increased by 82%, reaching 5.1 billion units. The entire online commerce market, which includes food and medicine distribution, grew by 48% to 7.9 trillion rubles. Analysts predict that the market will grow further, reaching 10.7 trillion rubles in 2024 and more than doubling in 2028.
