Russian companies have increasingly begun to look for IT specialists due to staff shortages. In 2024, more than a third of IT workers received up to two offers from competing companies, according to a study by human resources holding company Ventra, reviewed by RB.RU.

One thousand employees at different levels participated in the survey. 85% of them did not change jobs in 2024. For a quarter of IT specialists, the salary increased by 10% to 20%, for 15% of specialists – by 20% to 40% .
At the same time, 62% of respondents said they were not worried about their professional future and almost half of respondents admitted that they felt more stable than in 2023. The most popular reason is confidence in the demand for skills, including in a highly competitive environment.
Due to the lack of qualified personnel, employers began to more often attract specialists from other companies. 17% of respondents received up to five offers of this type and 34% received up to two job offers from the competition.
Despite this, 56% of IT specialists are not willing to change jobs even with a salary increase. 41% of respondents would agree to remain in their current position only if the salary increased to the level offered by another company.
When choosing between a high salary and comfortable working conditions, most IT specialists will prefer the former. More than 60% are willing to work any time for a higher salary. Only 17% of respondents will refuse to go to the office from a remote work format, subject to a salary increase.
Previously, analysts from hh.ru and Jet Infosystems found that more than half of Russian IT specialists lie during interviews, embellishing their work experience. Due to a record shortage of talent, employers are less likely to refuse to hire a candidate even if they detect lies on their part, according to a study.
