Mobilewalla is accused of “digital profiling” protesters and “attempting to expose their racial identities” during the 2020 rallies. Gravy Analytics allegedly collects billions of location signals every day and sells the data to federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security.

Both companies were ordered to delete the collected data and were prohibited from collecting sensitive information in the future. This includes monitoring military bases, mental health clinics and child care facilities. Mobilewalla also faces restrictions on how it can buy data from ad exchanges.
