According to details available in the latest app update (version 4.2.20 241 001.701 169 069), Clear Voice focuses on highlighting human speech and removing other sounds. However, the app only supports the phone’s internal microphone and mono audio. External microphones and stereo sound are not supported.
This feature is not yet live and appears to require server-side activation. Users will have the option to turn Clear Audio on or off in Settings, depending on the lines of code.
In early 2024, Google improved the summarization feature for longer transcripts on Pixel 9 devices with the Gemini Nano.
