The Wildberries market management will carry out additional monitoring of aroma inhalers with essential oils, which have become popular among young people. Chairman of the State Duma Control Committee Dmitry Gusev sent a request for an investigation through Rospotrebnadzor.

In his opinion, adolescents’ obsession with nasal pencils could become a real epidemic, which he compares to addiction:
“Children buy aroma inhalers and get high,” RBC quotes Gusev’s letter to RPN. “Teenagers call them “brain refreshers.” “Parents don’t understand what their children are breathing and teachers are worried.”
The product sheet on the market does not contain detailed ingredients, since the product is not a medicine. And this worries the members of the State Duma Control Committee.
Representatives of Wildberries, in turn, claim that the market does not sell prohibited products, strictly observing the requirements of current legislation:
“By accepting the offer, market sellers confirm that they have provided reliable information about the product, its properties and methods of use, as well as that the product fully complies with all standards of the legislation of the Russian Federation.”
The platform itself periodically checks the goods and always responds quickly to requests from the authorities. The company said that based on the results of additional studies they will decide whether to allow the sale. Wildberries does not rule out that the product may disappear from the display case.
“If violations are detected, the market always takes immediate action,” said a company representative.
