Asteroid Cowepc5 will enter the Earth’s atmosphere and land in Yakutia. This was announced by Stas Korotky, scientific director of the Ka-Dar observatory and Astroverts astro farm. He said that residents of Yakutia will be able to observe a fireball whose glow will be so bright that it will be comparable to several full moons.

The asteroid has a diameter of about one meter and, according to the expert, there is a possibility that its fragments will reach the Earth, but their size will be insignificant. Korotky also announced that the asteroid’s entry speed into the atmosphere will be 16 kilometers per second. The final coordinates of its path are at an altitude of 100 kilometers above the Earth, and its entry point is at 118.63° east longitude and 60.827° north latitude.

According to the astronomer, this phenomenon is expected to be well visible over an area with a radius of 500 kilometers, and the flash itself can be observed from a distance of 700 to 1000 kilometers. The asteroid impact is located 110 kilometers northwest of Olekminsk, 200 kilometers east of Lensk and 600 kilometers west of Yakutsk.
