The presence of a dress code, the absence of a remote format, the uncomfortable location of the office and questions about marital status during an interview are what most scare candidates of the “zoomer” generation (from 18 to 27 years) when applying for a job. Researchers from the human resources holding company Ventra reached this conclusion in a survey of more than 1,300 people between 18 and 27 years old in 16 cities with a population of more than one million.

Thus, in the job descriptions, 37% of “zoomers” are discouraged by the inconvenient location of the office, another 24% are discouraged by the presence of a dress code, and 21% will refuse to work due to the lack of a remote or hybrid format.

Zoomers are not willing to spend a lot of time interviewing, and when communicating with recruiters, young people are often wary of questions about their personal lives, plans to have children, and faith.

A warning about overtime will be a reason for rejection for 28% of candidates, and the boss’s special management style will be a reason for rejection for 25%. Another 19 “zoomers” will refuse employment due to the fine system.

During the correspondence with the HR manager, the “zoomers” are especially alarmed by the lack of real photographs, and at the final stage, young people are ready to reject the offer due to the gray salary and the small number of colleagues in the team.
