Droideka from “Star Wars” – a police reality in China

It’s called RT-G and is a rolling, spherical robot that patrols the streets of China. It is equipped with a mesh gun, tear gas, grenades and sound wave dissipators and has the peculiarity that it is the same as the Droideka that first appeared from time to time The Phantom Menace from Star wars.

The spherical robot used is called RT-G and was developed by local robotics company Logon Technology.

Designed for extreme conditions, the RT-G is capable of traveling on both land and water at speeds of 22 mph (35 km/h) while withstanding impacts of up to 8,818 pounds (4 tons).

RT-G, equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, helps law enforcement agencies identify and deter criminals, improving public safety.

Initially seen by some as a marketing gimmick, RT-G quickly went from concept to reality, according to Oddity Central. Two months after their discovery, these robotic patrol units were seen on city streets working alongside human agents.

According to The Sun, RT-G’s artificial intelligence capabilities include facial recognition to identify known criminals and detect violations. It can alert law enforcement or apprehend suspects on its own using its built-in web gun. Other non-lethal equipment includes tear gas canisters, grenades and sound wave dispersal devices to provide adaptability in a variety of scenarios.
