According to the newspaper, the corresponding letters were sent by BKK Kolomensky, Konfesta, Strock and Udarnitsa. Prices for sweets, candies, caramels and waffles from these manufacturers may increase by 10% to 20%. Akkond and Slavyanka also warned about rising prices, but did not provide details. Manufacturers explained the price revision by the increase in production costs.
For example, Konfesta told retailers that production costs increased by 28% from September to December 2024. Almost all ingredients are becoming more expensive: prices for coconut flakes increased by 60%, those for lecithin (up to 53%), those of the cocoa butter substitute (up to 49%) and those of sunflower oil (up to 27%).
The prices of cocoa beans also increased (more than 30%), as well as confectionery fats (more than 20%). The latter account for up to half the cost of waffle products, representatives of Kolomenskoye noted.

Marshmallows produced from apples may also increase in price due to the increase in apple prices caused by the poor harvest in late summer 2024.
The ruble exchange rate also contributed to the rise in prices. Kolomensky, in a letter to retailers, said the weakening of the Russian currency raised the cost of raw materials by almost 20%. Spending on packaging and flavors alone increased by 46% and 22% respectively from September to December 2024, Konfesta said.
According to the analytical agency Agroan, in 2023 Russian confectionery factories produced more than 3.76 million tons of confectionery products, 3.7% more than in the same period in 2022. Almost half (48.1%) of confectionery products in Russia are sugar and chocolate products. 42.2% of the gross production volume was occupied by non-perishable flour products: waffles, gingerbread cookies and cookies.
Previously, the largest dairy producers agreed to reduce prices for socially important products on the eve of the New Year holidays. In particular, milk with a fat content of 2.5%, butter with a fat content of 72% and condensed milk will be cheaper.
