The artists of the Bank of Russia and Goznak will decide which of these symbols will be in the foreground, which in the background, and which will be placed on the banknote in the form of microdrawings. “They will have to create a harmonious composition of the symbols that people have chosen and at the same time link these symbols with protective elements. <...> The final version that will serve as the basis for the new banknote will be chosen by the board of directors of the Bank of Russia,” explained the head of the regulator, Elvira Nabiullina.

The Central Bank will present the updated design of the 1,000 ruble banknote at the end of 2025. The regulator demonstrated the front of the new banknote in October last year. It represents the Nikolskaya Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.
