More than 200 fake websites created to scam “Doe Arena Corinthians” campaign have been taken offline by ZenoX, a venture of Dfense Group, the cybersecurity company announced this week. At least 60 more fake URLs are being monitored.
According to the cyber security center, the monitoring, collection, processing and analysis of data on the internet, deep and dark web are supported by artificial intelligence. In addition to reducing false positives, the technology reduced the window of exposure to risks and the time to perform such tasks by 90%, resulting in 97% confidence.
“Certifying cybersecurity at large public events like this goes beyond preventing monetary loss; It’s about protecting passionate people who are united behind a cause and deserve peace of mind as they navigate the digital world,” said ZenoX CEO Gabriel Paiva, emphasizing the emotional significance of the action.
Organized fans were initiated by Gaviões da Fiel with the permission of Corinthians and Caixa Econômica Federal. The campaign aims to raise approximately R$700 million to pay off the club’s debt related to the financing of the Neo Química Arena. According to the official website, donations made through Pix so far total more than R$ 29 million.
How did the scams work?
Fake pages, which have almost the same design as the action’s official website, can easily deceive donors. The scammers claimed Pix on behalf of Corinthians and even promised to provide the same certificate given to fans who contributed to the legitimate campaign, according to the startup.
To attract more victims, some of the scam sites reported that donors could win prizes such as signed caps and shirts and tickets to VIP sections of the stadium, depending on the amount transferred. But real action does not include these analogues.

The removed pages also included options for the amount to donate that the internet user could choose; some of them ranged from R$ 10 to R$ 2,000, while others showed alternatives from R$ 15 to R$ 1,000. On the official website you are allowed to enter any amount from R$10, as well as R$10, R$20, R$50 and R$100.
Total 363 fake websites detected 264 have been removed so far by ZenoX. According to the cybersecurity company, there are currently 32 pages waiting to be removed and another 67 pages with registered addresses, but no content has been added for now. It is unknown how much money the fraudsters collected.
