According to the press service of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, the crew of the Volgoneft 212 ship was the first to request help. Due to bad weather, the ship was damaged and ran aground. On board there are petroleum products; Information about the spill is still becoming clear.

At 14:36 ​​Moscow time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the crew of the Volgoneft 212 tanker was evacuated and one of its members died.

The tanker Volgoneft 239, which was also transporting petroleum products, began to drift after sustaining damage. 50 people and 11 teams participated in eliminating the consequences of the incident.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has not yet announced the evacuation of the crew of the Volgoneft 239 ship.

According to the Shot Telegram channel, more than 4 thousand tons of fuel oil were on board each of the ships, which could leak into the sea.

The media also reports that due to the powerful waves (the waves reach 7 points), the ship “Volgoneft 212” had its bow broken and the “Volgoneft 239” had its stern cut off.
