Calling looks the same as standard calling on iPhone and is available by pressing the “+” button on the Calls tab. The goal is to make calling faster and easier without having to add the number to your contacts first.
Experts say the update brings WhatsApp closer to replacing the native Phone app, with iOS 18.2 allowing users to set third-party apps as default for calls. WhatsApp also introduced call quality improvements, including higher resolution video calls and the ability to initiate calls to specific group chat participants.
